The Islamic Development Bank Scholarship.

Patna: Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Jeddah has invited applications for scholarship cum interest-free education loan from meritorious but financially needy Indian Muslim students to help them to pursue professional courses such as Medical and Engineering.

This loan is for those students who have taken admission or intend to in academic year 2010-2011 in the first year of any degree courses of Medicine and Engineering including Homeopathy, Unani, Ayurvedic, Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, Food Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Law.

To get this loan it is necessary that aspirants should have obtained 60% marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics in 10th class examination.

The applicants will be interviewed by a selection committee and selected ones will be provided with the cost of living, clothing, books, tuition fees and medical expenses during the courses.

It is to be noted here that as it is an interest-free loan, recipients, therefore, will have to refund the amounts in easy installments after they settle down in profession. So that others can get benefit to enjoy the same educational opportunity.

Islamic Development Bank started this program in 1983 to promote professional education among Muslim community in various countries including India. In India this program is operated and monitored through Delhi based NGO Students Islamic Trust (SIT). So far 1163 students completed their courses and settled down in their professions with the help IDB loan. At present there are 645 students who are getting benefits from it and pursuing professional studies.

Talking to TwoCircles.net from Delhi, Mohammad Saifullah Rizwan, Executive Secretary of SIT, said: “It is a golden opportunity for the talented Muslim students who are unable to do professional courses due to financial problem. The students who passed matriculation with minimum 60% marks and have desire to go in professional fields should get benefit from this program.”

On number of students who will be selected this year he said: “We will select 250 students through interview. The Selection committee formed for this purpose will interview the applicants in almost all the states, then we will issue the list of selected students.”

Asked about amount that will be given to the selected students he told: “Each student of Medical is given Rs.45000/ and student of Engineering is given Rs. 40000/ per month till they complete the courses.

“They will have to return the amounts they receive from IDB after the completion of courses or after they get settlement in their profession so that it can pave the way for other students belonging to the same category and who want to do similar courses” he added.

The last date for submission of application is 25th August 2010. Application forms can be downloaded from SIT website -link- or it can be obtained from SIT office.

IDB SCHOLARSHIP PRORGRAMME

The Islamic Development Bank Jeddah, in order to improve the socio-economic conditions of the Muslim Communities in Non-Member Countries around the world and to make meaningful contributions to the development of their countries, launched its scholarship programme in 1983.

The Bank is trying to assist and develop the potentialities of Muslim students by awarding scholarship to the scholars who are unable to pursue studies due to financial difficulties. The programme is now in operation in 48 countries.Objective of the

Programme:

The objective of the programme is to provide opportunities for the academically meritorious and financially needy students to pursue study in professional degree courses in the fields of Medicine, Engineering, Agriculture and other related fields in order to become competent professionals with dedication and commitment to the development of the community and the country.

Nature of the Programme:

The scholarship is an interest-free loan (qard-e-hasan) to the students. It covers the cost of living, clothing, books, tuition fees and medical expenses (wholly or partly) recipients are therefore required to refund the scholarship in easy instalments after expiry of one year of the completion of graduation or after being settled down in profession whichever is earlier.

This is necessary because the scholarship is a grant from the Bank to the local community to enable it to sustain into the future to benefit deserving students to enjoy the same educational opportunity.

Eligibility:

The scholarship is open to the students who are meritorious but financially needy and have passed or appearing in SSC (10+2) examination and are desirous to pursue undergraduate profession studies in session 2009-2010 in one of the fields of study approved under the programme.

The Master Degree Courses and the students going abroad for study do not fall within the purview of the programme. Students joining Degree Courses after Diploma will not be eligible considered for scholarship

இஸ்லாமிய அடிப்படையில் அமைந்த கல்வியினை மேற்குலக மக்கள் விரும்பி ஆர்வமாக படித்து வருகின்றார்கள். அவர்களுக்கு தேவையான அனைத்து நல் உதவிகளையும் பல இஸ்லாமிய நாடுகள் மிக அமைதியான முறையில் செய்து வருகின்றன என்பதனை காணும் போது இஸ்லாம் புனித மார்க்கம் என்பது மிகவும் உறுதியாகி விட்டது.

இஸ்லாமானது கல்விக்கு எவ்வாறு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்கிறது, அவற்றின் நிறைகள், பண்புகள், இன்றைய காலக்கட்டத்திற்கு கல்வியானது எவ்வளவு அவசியம் என்பதினை நாம் ஒவ்வொரு தெரிந்து வைத்துக்கொள்வது கட்டாயமாக இருக்கிறது. நம்முடைய சந்திதிகள் உலக கல்வியுடன் இஸ்லாமிய கல்வியினை கற்று வர வேண்டும் என்பதினை நாம் கவனத்தில் கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

இஸ்லாம் என்றால் என்ன, அதன் அடிப்படைக்கொள்ளைகள் என்ன, இஸ்லாத்திற்கும் மற்ற மதத்திற்கு எத்தகைய தொடர்பு உள்ளது என்பதினை பற்றி பலவறாக மேற்குலகினர் ஆராய துவங்கி விட்டனர். தற்போது மற்ற மதங்களை விட இஸ்லாமிய மார்க்கம் பிற மதத்தினரின் மனங்களை கொள்ளை கொண்டு விட்டது. வாடிகன் தலைமையகம் சமீபத்தில் வெளியிட்ட அறிக்கை என்னவென்றால், சமீப காலங்களில் இஸ்லாம் மார்க்கம் மிகவும் வேகமாக பரவி விட்டது. வருங்காலத்தில் யூத மற்றும் கிறிஸ்துவ மதங்கள் மண்ணுக்குள் புதைந்து விடுமோ.. என்று நாங்கள் பயம் படுகிறோம் என்றும் சொன்னது என்பதினை நாம் ஊடகத்துறைகள் வாயிலாக அறிந்து இருப்போம்.

மேற்குலகில் இஸ்லாமிய அடிப்படையில் அமைந்த கல்வியினை மற்றவர்கள் கற்க வேண்டும் என்பற்காக, சவூதி அரேபியாவை சார்ந்த தன்னார்வ தொண்டு நிறுவனங்கள் பல தன்னால் ஆன தொண்டுகளை செய்து வருகின்றன. அல்ஹம்து லில்லாஹ்..

சவூதி அரேபியா இளவரசர் அல் வாலித் பின் தலால் (Prince Al waleed bin Talal) என்பவர் துவங்கிய The Kingdom Foundation – Riyadh based charity) என்ற தொண்டு நிறுவனமானது இஸ்லாமிய கல்வியானது மேற்குலகில் பரவ வேண்டி இது வரை 100 மில்லியன் பவுண்டுகளை நிதியுதவியாக கொடுத்துள்ளது. அத்துடன், இங்கிலாந்தில் உள்ள ஹார்வார்ட் பல்கலைக்கழகத்திற்கும் (Harvard University) மற்றும் ஜார்ஜ்டவுன் பல்கலைக்கழகத்திற்கும் (Georgetown University) அவர் தன்னுடைய சொந்த பணம் பலவற்றினை இஸ்லாமிய கல்வி வளர்ச்சிக்காக கொடுத்து உதவி உள்ளார்.

குறிப்பாக, பாரிஸ் நகரில் உள்ள லுவ்ரே அருட்காட்சியத்திற்கு (Louvre Museum in Paris) இஸ்லாம் பற்றிய தகவல்களை திரட்ட வேண்டி 10 மில்லியன் டாலர்களை கொடுத்து உள்ளார். மற்றும் கேம்பரிட்ஜ் பல்கலைக்கழகத்திற்கு, தன் பொறுப்பு ஏற்று நடத்தும் The Chairman of the Kindgom Holding Company (KHC) என்ற நிறுவனம் சார்பாக 8 மில்லியன் டாலர்களை இஸ்லாமிய கல்வி வளர்ச்சிக்காக கொடுத்து உள்ளார்.

பிரிட்டனில் உள்ள 50த்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட பல்கலைக்கழகங்கள் இதுவரை, இஸ்லாமிய கல்வி வளர்ச்சி நிதியாக 200 மில்லியன் பவுண்டுகளை பெற்றுக்கொண்டு உள்ளன என்று துபாயிலிருந்து வெளிவரும் கலீஸ் டைம்ஸ் என்ற தினப்பத்திரிகையானது தனது ஏப்ரல் 9, 2008 – 18 வது பக்கத்தில் செய்தியாக வெளியிட்டு இருந்தது. நன்றி : (Khaleej Times – April 9 – 2008 Page No – 18)

கேம்பரிட்ஜ் பல்கலைக்கழகத்திற்கு, பேரரசார் கொடுத்த நிதியுதவினை பற்றி பிரிட்டன் தூதர் திரு. வில்லியம் பாடே (William Patey – British Ambassador) அவர்கள் கருத்து கூறுகையில், இந்த நிதியுதவி எங்களுக்கு கிடைத்தது கண்டு மிக்க மகிழ்ச்சி, இந்த நிதியுதவினை பேரரசர் அவர்கள் நல்ல எண்ணத்துடன் கொடுத்து உள்ளார். நாங்கள் அதனை கொண்டு நாங்கள் முழுக்க முழுக்க இஸ்லாமிய கல்வி வளர்ச்சிக்காகவும், இஸ்லாமிய பண்பாடுகளை பல்கலைக்கழக மாணாக்கர்களிடம் வளர்க்க வேண்டி பயன் உள்ள முறையில் செலவு செய்வோம். இதன் மூலமாக பிரிட்டனுக்கும் சவூதி நாட்டிற்கும் உள்ள நட்பு உறவானது மீண்டும் வலுப்பெறும் என்றும், பிரிட்டன் இளவரசரான சார்லஸ் (Prince Charles) இஸ்லாமிய கல்வியானது ஐரோப்பாவில் பரவ வேண்டி தனிப்பட்ட முறையில் (Particular Interest) ஆர்வம் கொண்டு ஊக்குவிக்கிறார் என்கிறார்.

பிரிட்டனில் கேம்பரிட்ஜ் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் மட்டுமின்றி, அங்குள்ள 15 த்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட கல்வி நிறுவனங்கள் இஸ்லாமிய அடிப்படையில் அமைந்த கல்வியினையும் மற்றும் மத்திய கிழக்கு நாடுகளின் கலாச்சாரம் பண்பாடுகளை பற்றி மாணாக்கர்களுக்கு போதிக்கின்றன.

சென்ற வருடம் இளவரசர் அல்வாலித் அவர்கள் (Prince Al Waleed) மலேஷியா நாட்டில் செயல்படும் பன்னாட்டு இஸ்லாமிய பல்கலைக்கழகத்திற்கு (International Islamic University of Malaysia – IIUM)
ஒரு மில்லியன் டாலர்களை அளித்து உள்ளார். மலேஷியா நாட்டில் இந்த பல்கலைக்கழகமானது 1983 ஆம் ஆண்டு செயல்பட்டு செம்மையாக வளர்ந்து வருகிறது. பல உலக நாடுகளின் நிதியுதவியுடன் இந்த பல்கலைக்கழகம் செயல்படுகிறது. குறிப்பாக, பங்களாதேஷ், எகிப்து, லிபியா, மாலத்தீவு, பாகிஸ்தான், துருக்கி போன்ற நாடுகள் தன்னால் ஈயன்ற நிதிகளை கொடுத்து வருகின்றன.


இந்த பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் பல துறைகளை சார்ந்த கல்விகள் போதிக்கபடுகின்றன. தகவல் தொழில் நுட்பத்துறை (Information Technology), பொறியியல் துறை (Engineering), வேதி அறிவியல் (Chemical Science), கட்டுமானத்துறை (Architecture), பொருளாராதம் (Economics) போன்றத்துறைகளை பற்றிய பாடங்கள் நடத்தப்படுகின்றன. இஸ்லாமிய முதல்வர்களை (Islamic Principles) கொண்டு இந்த பல்கலைக்கழகம் செயல்படுகிறது. இந்த பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் 90 நாடுகளை சார்ந்த 18,000 மாணாக்கர்கள் கல்வி பயில்கின்றனர்.

முன்னாள் மாணவரின் இறைவசனத்துடன் நிகழ்ச்சி துவங்கியது. துணை முதல்வர் ஹுமாயுன் கபீர் வரவேற்புரை நிகழ்த்தினார். வாழ்த்துரை வழங்கிய 'சிராஜுல் உம்மத்' மௌலவி அல்ஹாஜ் எஸ். அஹ்மத் பஷீர் சேட் ஆலிம் அவர்கள் தனது உரையில் கல்வியின் முக்கியத்துவம் குறித்து வலியுறுத்தினார். நாற்பது ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பே கல்வித்தந்தை அல்ஹாஜ் பி.எஸ். அப்துல் ரஹ்மான் அவர்களது சீரிய சிந்தனையில் உதித்த பிறைப்பள்ளி இன்று தரமான கல்வியினை வழங்கி வருவது குறித்து பெருமிதம் கொண்டார். மார்க்கக் கல்வி மற்றும் உலகக் கல்வி உள்ளிட்டவற்றை ஒரே இடத்தில் கிடைப்பதற்கு ஏற்பாடு செய்து வரும் சீதக்காதி டிரஸ்ட்டுக்கு பாராட்டு தெரிவித்தார். இத்தகைய நல்வாய்ப்பை அனைவரும் பயன்படுத்திக் கொள்ள கேட்டுக் கொண்டார்.

பள்ளி முதல்வர் முனைவர் தாவூத் ஷா பள்ளியின் சிறப்பியல்புகளை எடுத்தியம்பினார். சர்வதேசப் பள்ளிக்கான பிரிட்டிஷ் விருது பெற்றதையும் விவரித்தார். மாணவர்கள் தங்களது திறன்களை வளர்த்துக்கொள்ளும் வகையில் பல்வேறு வாய்ப்புகள் உள்ளதையும் தெரிவித்தார். விரைவில் சர்வதேசப் பள்ளி ஒன்று துவங்கப்பட இருப்பதாகவும், கூடுவாஞ்சேரியில் அதற்கான பணிகள் நடைபெற்று வருவதாகவும் தெரிவித்தார். ஐக்கிய அரபு அமீரகம் பள்ளியின் முன்னாள் மாணவர்கள் அதிக அளவில் இருக்கும் ஒரு நாடு. முன்னாள் மாணவர்கள் பள்ளியின் வளர்ச்சிக்கு பெரிதும் ஒத்துழைப்பு நல்கி வருவது பெரும் மகிழ்ச்சி தெரிவித்தார்.

தொடர்ந்து துணை முதல்வர் ஹுமாயுன் கபீர் பள்ளி குறித்த விளக்கப்படங்களையும், பள்ளியில் செய்யப்பட்டு வரும் மாற்றங்களயும், கல்விக்கட்டணம், விடுதி வசதி உள்ளிட்டவற்றை கணினி வழியே விவரித்தார். கீழக்கரை புகாரி ஆலிம் அரபிக்கல்லூரி முதல்வர் செய்யத் மஸ்ஊத் ஜமாலி அரபிக்கலூரியில் வழங்கப்படும் பாடத்திட்டங்கள் குறித்து விவரித்தார்.
